June Celebrations....(thus far)

LIL ALEX, TOMMY AND NOAH~JUNE BIRTHDAY BOYS

VELVET ROSE~JUNE GRADUATE
It has been a busy month here at the FRAIJO HOME...some birthdays and high school graduation...on top of Tommy's 50th birthday, our 28th wedding anniversary and Fathers day...and we aren't done yet....today we are headed to another birthday bbq and a wedding next Saturday....

We started off celebrating our cousin Velvet Rose's high school graduation from South Hills High School....and went to her celebration dinner at TGIFriday...Tommy and I have gotten in to a good habit of sharing a entree and each having a salad or some form of low calorie appetizer.  Being on WW does not mean you have to miss out on celebrations of any kind....plus if you eat light (low points) meal during the day, you can save up for the evening celebration.

The following week we celebrated Lil Alex's 9th birthday at the Dodger game. (lil Alex is a cousin's son but more like a grandson to us) He was totally surprised when we told him, and more surprised when we said his friends were meeting us there (total of 30 people attending his party) Now just as in the graduation celebration the week before, if you eat low points all day you can have a good time at the game...(would have been better if they would have BEAT the Angels) but you have to know what to eat....i took goodie bags for the kiddies and snacks for the adults...even had cupcakes (whats a birthday without paupau"s cupcakes?)...

As you know, last week we celebrated Tommy's 50th, our anniversary....

We also celebrated Father's Day with a BBQ at home.  Now when you cook, you can always add point friendly food.  We had a nice veggie tray with fat free ranch dip (sorry Stephanie...lol), chips and salsa...all salsa are ZERO Points....just watch your chip intake.  We had chicken and carne asada...both are fine to eat.  It was a nice day as we celebrated the amazing DADS in our lives..
Tommy and Our Nephew Steven

So you see we still enjoy all the celebrations of our loved ones, WW lets you enjoy life as it should be...it just teaches you to portion control all our favorites and make the right choices.  Sure who wouldn't want to have 2 pieces of cake AND ice cream...but as long as you satisfy your craving with a small portion of it, you will be fine.

HONEST.....

28 YEARS TODAY...AND COUNTING

June 2012~28 years

On Saturday June 16th , Tommy and I celebrated 28 years of marriage.  We spent the morning at basketball games for our travel teams and then we had dinner at SHO SUSHI in Upland....omg...was it good!  Then we headed to see a movie...it was actually a perfect day....spent how it should be...TOGETHER....

I think back to when we got married in 1984, at 22 years of age....young and eager to start our live together as husband and wife, and start our own family.   We thought we knew it all...we were in love and we had the perfect marriage.

June 16, 1984~Wedding Day
Well, life is not perfect...we have had our fair share of disagreements...but through it all, we are still here....TOGETHER.

Marriage is hard work, its commitment and love and respect for one another, its knowing when to say your sorry or say nothing at all, its the good times and the bad times, its the trails that life throws at you and making it through them, its believing in each other, its supporting each others  hopes and dreams, its helping each others reach those goals, its trust, its faith in GOD...and its never quitting or giving up.  Marriage is hard work but the rewards of your hard work and dedication to your marriage and your spouse...make it all worth it!!!!

Fast forward to 2012, and as I look back over all these years with Tommy (more than half my lifetime) I thank God for the gift of Tommy and all we have been through because it has made us who we are today, proud parents to three amazing children who have blessed lives of their own, wonderful memories and...a man and his wife who never quit when the going got tough, but a man and his wife who still TOGETHER...after all these years.

And I know there are many more years to come.....

My life is complete with the gift of my husband, Tommy.....my partner for life!

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

New International Version (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres

Us and our friends The Hinojosa, The Chacons and The Durans

I know I am behind ...sorry

We got together wit a few of our friends and family and went to El Torito to celebrate Tommy turning the bog 5-0....

I think he had a pretty good birthday this year.  It started on Thursday night with a skype session with our daughter Alexandra and her kindergarten class wishing him a Happy Birthday ( it was already Friday there)...then the kids sang to him (super cute)

He was surprised at work when I had an Edible Arrangement sent to him...I know what my husband likes...it was all ZERO PINTS!!!  When he got home we headed to El Torito to meet family and friends (thanks to those you came out) We had a good time celebrating him...

This was the longest birthday because it did not end then, it continued into Saturday when he received his gift from the kids...a new Fossil watch that they had engraved...(we might just keep those kids after all)

To mark this occasion of turning the big 5-0......Tommy and I are headed on a Caribbean Cruise in September....our gift to each other....we are so looking forward to it!!!

Once again Happy Birthday to an amazing man....my husband!!!

BACK TO THE GRINDSTONE

my work area....

So I went back to work today after being off 4 weeks to recover from my surgery.  It was a good time off, resting and trying to catch up on a few things...(but with recovery limitations..kinda rough) but all in all it is over and now it back to normal routine again....

I must admit I am a little tired today after work, I mean if I was tired  and felt some pain, I could go and lay down, not so luck at work,  I sit for 8 hours and answer phones...and I had SO much work to catch up on...
it wasnt all bad..it was nice to see friends....especially the ones who had been in an accident about 10 days ago.

also part of the normal routine, will be going back to our weekly WW meetings to weigh in and get some motivation.  I don't think I have gained but I know my loss has been slow and very minimal....but ANY loss is a GOOD loss....words of wisdom from my daughter Alexandra.

So I am kind of excited to see where I am REALLY at on their scales.  I have been checking on ours but want to know the truth...Tommy has kept up his walking and on Friday decided he is gonna try Birkam Yoga...hot yoga.....not me, just getting back into the walking routine is good enough for me.

We will be having some talapia fish tonight, don't know exactly what I am going to do with it but it will be healthy. ... I will fill you in tomorrow ow we did and what we did with the fish.....
